Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.
Genesis 19:11
These men wanted to have sex with the two angels. They forced their way in and tried to break the door. They did not care about proper ethics and morals as long as they get what they want.
We may have a 20-20 vision and we called ourselves Christians. But there are times we are also being blinded by our wordly desires – lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life… power, money, fame, sex, etc. We are blinded that we cannot see the door of true blessings from God.

Sometimes, that door is just right in front of us. Yet, because we pursue our own will rather than that of the Lord, we would just pass by that door, going around in circles looking for that grand entrance.
God is telling us:
You have seen many things, but you pay no attention;
Isaiah 42:20
your ears are open, but you do not listen.
So we end up hurting ourselves and the people around us, bearing the consequences of our disobedience. Our lives may become miserable.

One may have gained everything in this world, but his soul goes to its grave. Don’t let your life be destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah.
